Gexume is a Filipino recording artist and mixing engineer whose work moves between Tagalog and English, emotionally direct songwriting, playful confidence, and collaborative hip-hop. His public catalog includes solo releases and recurring work with artists such as Trini, Blank, Lawskie, and Anthony.R.
He began experimenting with rap while still in school, first recording with childhood friend Trini and learning BandLab on a phone. Without a formal studio or a clear technical roadmap, he made songs repeatedly, built a makeshift recording space from available materials, and gradually moved from simple phone recordings to desktop audio tools. That process taught him to write more complete stories, train his ear, and treat every unfamiliar voice as a new mixing problem.
Friends and shared spaces are central to Gexume's development. His early group 21st Street, the remembered trap-house period, and the wider circle that formed Tutable Records gave the music a structure beyond solo practice. When family housing became uncertain and his own momentum slowed, people in that circle offered practical support and a place to keep working. Recording and mixing for other artists later became both a source of income and a way for his name to travel through word of mouth.
On Good To Live Podcast, Gexume describes patience, openness, faith, and feedback as parts of the same creative discipline. He wants listeners to understand the story inside a song, but he also uses music to hold feelings he finds difficult to explain directly. As his sound and collaborations continue to change, he hopes to keep the playful personality, approachability, and sense of purpose that made him begin.
